I was so happy this week to be included in an article from Healthy Detector titled 10 Vegan Bloggers Share Their Money-Saving Tips. (Preview and no surprise, my tip had something to do with dried beans!) I loved hearing from other vegans and what they do to save money. Many of us think very much along the same lines.
As an additional note, in my own experience, I find a vegan diet costs me about the same (or less) as a cheese and meat-eating diet. I also find cooking takes the same amount of time.
How can that be?
Because after a small learning curve, you will spend as much money as you have and you will spend as much time as you have. Your natural habits and financial restrictions will dictate the rest.
At least that’s MY experience.
It’s like when you buy a bigger purse, you think, “Oh finally! I’ll have more room in my purse! My purse can be more neat and organized.” And then after a time you realize, “No I don’t have more room in my purse, and it’s still messy!” (Because you filled it with more stuff and you tend to be a little disorganized, silly.)
See? Your habits dictate the state of your purse. The purse doesn’t dictate the state of your purse.
Again, that’s MY experience. I don’t know about you.
(I hope my purse analogy made sense and didn’t throw you off, and I swear I have not been drinking!)
